The appearance of the new Seat Tarraco crossover has attracted many new fans. Previously, the brand could surprise at the expense of several models and then mostly hatchbacks. It didn't take long, and the manufacturer decided to surprise again by introducing the hybrid Seat Tarraco. According to the manufacturer - a crossover with a Plug-in-Hybrid installation. This hybrid became the first hybrid crossover of the Spanish brand, which acquired a plug-in unit under the hood.
It's no secret, and the manufacturer himself has repeatedly stated that by 2021, 5 more fully electric or hybrid modifications will join the new hybrid. In all likelihood, Cupra and Seat will be on the list. The development of the new Seat Tarraco PHEV was carried out by the company's engineers at the plant in Martorell (Spain). Nevertheless, they want to establish production of the crossover in Germany, at the facilities of the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg. The technical characteristics of the hybrid Seat Tarraco differ from the usual model. Under the hood is a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine with 150 horsepower. There is also an electric motor with a capacity of 116 hp. To ensure the operation of the electric motor, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13 kW * h is installed on board the hybrid.
According to the manufacturer, when driving only on a battery, the power reserve will last for 50 km without recharging. The total power of the hybrid was 245 hp. (as the manufacturer claims), although if you count, then 21 horses are lost somewhere. The maximum torque is 400 Nm. According to preliminary information, the crossover will overcome the first hundred on the speedometer in 7.4 seconds, and the maximum speed will be 217 km / h (programmatically limited).
At the presentation, representatives of the company showed a sports version of the hybrid, which received FR trim. The car is distinguished by a different radiator grille, wider wheel arches, as well as an LED strip on the trunk lid that connects the feet. At the heart of the novelty are 19 ″ alloy wheels, and the rear is decorated with a sports spoiler. At the request of the buyer, the discs can be replaced by 20 ″.
The interior of the hybrid crossover Seat Tarraco 2020 received a 9.2 ″ display of the multimedia system. The list includes a navigation system, front sports seats, aluminum pedal pads, as well as a sports steering wheel with a branded FR emblem. As for security and comfort systems, the manufacturer talks about the most modern set, including all kinds of communication systems.
The list also includes an auxiliary option when driving with a trailer and a system for warming up the engine in the parking lot. The official premiere of the Seat Tarraco PHEV hybrid will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September. The start of serial production is scheduled for early 2020. The new product will appear in official dealerships no earlier than mid-2020, at the same time a list of trim levels and prices will be announced.
