The display of the new yellow Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe concept at the Shanghai Auto Show surprised everyone, since this body shape was unusual for Mercedes. But it didn't take long before spies spotted the GLC Coupe in motion on the road.

No one expected that in addition to the declared fuel engine, a hybrid installation would be installed in the new GLC Coupe crossover. This is evidenced by a small filling hole in the rear bumper, just below the right stop. Thus, information began to leak among the admirers of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Mercedes model specialists immediately said that this is the filling hole for the already well-known plug-in hybrid system, which is used and installed on Mercedes.

All the convergence is that the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe will be based on the 350s platform, which has been launched as a hybrid platform. It is also likely to inherit the same technical parameters as the one already presented Mercedes C350e. It is predicted that the fuel engine of the crossover will be a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder, with a capacity of 211 hp. and a torque of 350 Nm. The electric motor will produce 82 hp. and a torque of 340 Nm. Thanks to the 6.38 kWh lithium-ion battery, which can be charged with a universal charger for hybrids or electric vehicles. Or while driving on a fuel engine, the battery is also charged. According to the characteristics of the C350e, the fuel consumption is 2.1 l / 100 km, when combining the fuel and electric motor. If you use only an electric motor, then it will be enough to drive 31 km.

It is not yet reliably known what power the hybrid unit will be, will inherit the same parameters as the C350e or be more powerful in combination with a turbocharged two-liter engine, but still did not want the same parameters as in the sedan.

In 2016, the Mercedes GLC Coupe should be officially presented at the Geneva Motor Show. Sale in Europe is expected in the summer of 2016, and towards the end of the year in the States.
