The famous crossovers CR-V and HR-V from Honda will soon see their little brother. At the auto show in Brazil, Honda will unveil the concept of a new compact and affordable WR-V crossover.
Each auto show brings new additions and innovations to the automotive world. Sometimes it can be a simple update of an already known model, and sometimes it can be completely new cars. So at an exhibition in Brazil in the city of São Paulo, Honda will present a new concept of a subcompact and low-cost crossover WR-V. The show will be at this exhibition, since it was the Brazilian division that developed the design of the new Honda WR-V.
To date, there is only one photo of the Honda WR-V submitted by the company itself. At first glance, it becomes clear that the new crossover is built on the basis of the already known Fit or Jazz hatchbacks. The same information is confirmed by unofficial data. In many ways, the new concept Honda WR-V says it will be a purely urban crossover, and in size it is clearly smaller than the HR-V. The front of the concept is stretched out and the rear is cropped. The front optics are similar in many ways to a hatchback. Fake aluminum edging and plastic fender liners emphasize the new WR-V as a crossover with a promising future. It's too early to say anything about the technical characteristics of the new concept of the Honda WR-V, but still, according to all preliminary data, the compact crossover will receive a four-cylinder VTEC engine from Honda. Fit. Such a unit is capable of delivering 116 horses with a torque of 150 Nm. The advantage of such an engine is that it can run on both gasoline and bioethanol.
The drive of the Honda WR-V will be definitely front-wheel drive, and it is still too early to talk about all-wheel drive, since there may simply not be enough power. The engine can be paired with a variator gearbox, which is becoming more and more popular with Honda.
The presentation of the Honda WR-V is expected on November 8, 2016. A novelty is expected on sale no earlier than mid-2017 in South America. For the Indian and international markets, the concept will arrive a year later.
