The update of the Peugeot 5008 crossover was planned and took place right on schedule, despite the quarantine and other side problems. It was originally planned that a hybrid installation would be installed under the hood, but this never happened. A couple of days ago, the updated Peugeot 3008 was presented, which in fact is considered a smaller brother.
Following the younger brother, the new Peugeot 5008 got the same front end. The radiator grille has lost its bezel and is decorated with LED running lights in a circle. The front bumper was reworked, as well as the model nameplate on the end of the hood. If we talk about the top-end modification of the Peugeot 5008, then the list includes fully LED optics and rear feet. The GT Pack and GT trim levels have a special radiator grille, with a distinctive design. At the base are 19 ″ alloy wheels. Optionally, they offer to install the Black Pack, which includes individual darkened elements of the appearance.
If we talk about the interior of the Peugeot 5008 2020, then first of all, the digital instrument panel is thrown, based on a 12.3 ″ touch screen, a modern multimedia system in the form of a tablet (the basis was a 10 ″ touch screen), as well as a 515-watt audio system. In addition to the above, the front seats of the crossover received a massage function.
Modifications of the updated Peugeot 5008 with automatic transmission received three driving modes as standard (Eco, Normal and Sport). In addition, the list also includes the AllGrip traction control system. The security systems were also improved, the list was supplemented by adaptive cruise control, which can independently resume the movement of the car. Further on the list are the night vision system, the emergency automatic braking system, the lane selection system and the road sign system.
Depending on the wishes of the buyer, under the hood of the new Peugeot 5008 2020 there can be both a gasoline and a diesel engine. The list of gasoline units consists of two units. A turbocharged 3-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.2 liters (power 130 hp and 230 Nm of torque). The second engine is 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter, 180 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The first engine can work in tandem with both a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic transmission (optional). As for the second unit of the Peugeot 5008, it only works with an 8-speed automatic.
Diesel engines of the Peugeot 5008 2020 attract no less interest. Like gasoline, there are two diesel units. The first 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter, can produce 130 horses and 300 Nm of torque. The second unit with a volume of 2.0 liters, 180 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. Similar to gasoline units, a manual or automatic transmission can be used in tandem.
There is not much information about the dynamic characteristics of the updated Peugeot 5008 yet. In particular, engineers have revealed information about gasoline engines. So, the unit with a capacity of 180 horses can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.3 seconds, while the maximum speed is limited to 220 km / h. There is no information on the dynamics of diesel configurations of the Peugeot 5008 2021 yet. The official start of sales of the new Peugeot 5008 in Europe is expected at the end of 2020, but it is possible that it can be postponed to the beginning of 2021.
