According to forecasts of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, in the next few years the number of insurers in the country may significantly decrease, which is associated with the transition to the introduction of electronic CMTPL contracts. electronic OSAGO contracts.

According to Igor Zhuk, who works as the head of the Central Bank's insurance market department, at the moment a huge number of insurance companies are not ready to start implementing the law obliging insurers to carry out the implementation of car insurance policies in electronic form. As a reminder, this law will come into force at the beginning of 2017.

He also noted that today many representatives of insurers declare that they do not see any prospects and benefits in selling policies through electronic media. As it turned out, since the launch of the opportunity to purchase electronic insurance policies, insurers have been able to voluntarily realize about 1% of the total number of sold OSAGO policies, which, according to representatives of the Central Bank, is a catastrophically small indicator for the entire insurance market of the Russian Federation. Igor Zhuk also said that already today, a large number of small insurance companies are preparing to leave the domestic market due to their unwillingness to switch to work with electronic OSAGO policies.

It is also worth recalling that earlier representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office initiated an audit of the work of auto lawyers dealing with disputes between drivers and insurance companies regarding the issued auto insurance policies.
